About this grant
The program goal is to promote and develop philanthropy in Romania. During the grant period, the Association for Community Relations will build the capacity of nonprofit organizations in Romania to raise local resources, introduce new giving mechanisms and programs, improve the level and quality of corporate giving, strengthen community philanthropy and community foundations, and improve the visibility of the philanthropic sector in Romania. In addition, the grantee will strengthen its financial sustainability by building its long-term assets and an endowment. Also, the grantee will strengthen its regional cooperation with peer organizations and individual professionals in the field of philanthropy development. In 2012-2013, the grantee helped more than ten advocacy organizations to start fundraising from local sources, facilitated the establishment of six new community foundations, and introduced donations through direct debit in partnership with six major Romanian banks. Based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the Association for Community Relations was established in 2001 with the mission to promote and develop philanthropy in Romania.
