About this grant

This grant will enable the Center for Social Development at Washington University to inform and facilitate a state-level Individual Development Account (IDA) policy infrastructure. Since 1997, the center has been documenting state IDA policies and programs, and supporting asset-building policy innovation at the state and federal levels. Multiyear funding will support efforts to connect federal and state asset-building policies in order to develop frameworks that provide all individuals and families, at all income levels, real opportunities to acquire, maintain and protect assets. Activities will include promoting better understanding of the effects of asset-building policies; providing policymakers, advocates and practitioners with greater access to information in order to develop, fund and sustain state-level asset-building policies and programs; providing technical assistance to policymakers who are developing and implementing IDA initiatives; and continuing to analyze federal and state asset-building policies.
