About this grant

The Documenting Demand Side Outcomes project, built on the work of the Workforce Strategies Initiative at the Aspen Institute, involves a learning cluster to develop and test a practical methodology for assessing employer benefits from sector training. The long-term goal of the project is to improve the quality and stability of industry-specific workforce development programs by introducing the use of demand side performance measures to assess performance in relation to the healthcare and manufacturing industries.Funding will support activities that include reviewing and refining the proposed methodology; pilot testing the methodology by participating programs; and refining the methodology based on the test, synthesis of findings and dissemination of results.Past accomplishments included selecting 10 training and educational service providers – five each in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors; developing the framework for a methodology for measuring and documenting the value of workforce development services to employers; and improving the project’s Web site.
