About this grant
Public/Private Ventures (P/PV) is conducting a random assignment evaluation of three sectoral employment projects: the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership in Milwaukee; Per Scholas in the Bronx; and the Jewish Vocational Services of Boston. The goal of the evaluation is to promote the effectiveness of sectoral employment based on evidence of increased earnings and job retention by low-income workers.Funding will enable P/PV to continue collecting and reporting data; conduct baseline and follow-up interviews and site visits; and prepare an interim report.During the past year, P/PV worked with the sites on data-collection issues; prepared monthly progress reports; presented training, placement and retention outcomes for each site by sector and over time; conducted the third and fourth rounds of site visits; interviewed several employer partners who have hired graduates; and led focus groups with program participants during each visit.
