About this grant
Micro-enterprise programs are assisting the most disadvantaged entrepreneurs in the U.S. with intensive, cost-effective services that help individuals start and sustain viable businesses. However, out of approximately 600 micro-enterprise programs nationwide, only a small percentage target their products and services to people with disabilities and the agencies that serve them. This grant will enable the Abilities Fund to refine its referral process; continue to build the technical capacity and accessibility of micro-enterprise programs; and connect micro-enterprise and rehabilitation professionals to enable individuals with disabilities to realize full inclusion and access to mainstream micro-enterprise development services. The Abilities Fund is the first and only nationwide community developer and financial institution targeted exclusively to advancing entrepreneurial opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
