About this grant
The Mvula Trust partners with government to ensure access to safe and sustainable water services for mainly poor, rural communities. Recently, the trust launched a project between local governments and communities wherein community-based organizations are contracted by the municipalities as water service providers, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that women participate in the process. This grant will enable the trust to continue implementing the project and support replication of the project in other localities.The Mvula Trust, founded in 1993, is a non-governmental organization committed to improving the health and welfare of poor and disadvantaged communities in South Africa’s rural and peri-urban areas.
