About this grant
The American Arab Heritage Council offers seminars, educational outreach activities and services to promote better understanding of, and tolerance toward, Arab Americans and Muslims in the Flint area.Multiyear funding will enable the council to maintain and increase its activities, including increasing the frequency of the newsletter from bi-monthly to monthly; expanding outreach to both the Arab-American community for services and the non-Arab-American community for education; and recognizing a community leader each year.Recent accomplishments included presenting a number of seminars; producing a newsletter with an audience of 1,200 Arab-American families in the Flint area; organizing an annual health and art fair; supporting Flint Area Citizens to End Racism (FACTER); co-sponsoring events to highlight Arab culture; and providing services to immigrants.
