About this grant

This grant increase will enable the Manufacturing Institute to continue the Workforce Innovation Networks Initiative. This demonstration illustrates how employer associations play a workforce development intermediary role can advise and broker services to selected member firms that will result in increasing productivity and retention and wage advancement of entry-level workers with limited skills and multiple barriers. Employer associations in Pittsburgh, Detroit and Hartford serve as intermediaries that will continue to work with local firms to retain at least 225 low-skilled workers. The Manufacturing Institute will provide oversight and technical assistance and Abt Associates will conduct the evaluation.
