About this grant
The Texas Individual Development Account (IDA) Network was created in 2002 to expand the scope of activities; coordinate efforts with other IDA initiatives; and increase IDAs to scale in Texas.Multiyear funding will enable the network to begin transforming small, independent IDA programs into more efficient delivery systems, such as regional collaboratives; develop universal products and publications that can be used across multiple initiatives; educate policymakers about asset-building strategies and opportunities in Texas; and identify opportunities and strategies for linking asset-building initiatives to existing community development programs.During the past two years, accomplishments included supporting the work of new and established IDA programs throughout the state; providing vehicles for successful IDA programs to share experiences and resources; identifying successful IDA programs and helping them create alternative delivery systems to serve more people; and developing a legislative initiative to help elected officials better understand IDAs and their usefulness as a poverty alleviation tool.
