About this grant
For nearly 40 years, Clean Wisconsin has played a leadership role on statewide environmental issues, with a sustained interest in maintaining the health of the Great Lakes. With previous Mott support, the grantee worked to support a comprehensive regional policy for managing Great Lakes water withdrawals and diversions that resulted in the passage of the Great Lakes Compact. Clean Wisconsin is now turning its attention to ensuring full implementation of the compact at the state level. This grant increase, and associated grant period extension, will allow the grantee to help develop a solid foundation for compact implementation in the state and inform policies that will reduce future demand for Great Lakes water.
