About this grant

The Saint-Petersburg NGO Development Centre is the leading information, training and networking resource center for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in northwest Russia. Multiyear funding will enable the center to continue providing training and information services to NGOs in northwest Russia, with a greater focus on the city of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast. Specific objectives include strengthening partnerships, both within the nonprofit sector and between sectors to improve the quality of social policy development and implementation of new social service provision technologies; improving management and advocacy in the nonprofit sector through education and training; and providing information and research to support nonprofit-sector development and the resolution of various social problems.During the past three years, achievements included conducting 116 training seminars, roundtables, information workshops and conferences; maintaining three electronic listservs, all of which have more than 1,800 subscribers; conducting research and analytical studies on various social and civic issues; and implementing partnership projects with other governmental agencies and NGOs, both Russian and foreign.
