About this grant

The Leadership Conference Education Fund works to help bridge the gap between antiracist organizations and potential funders. This grant will enable the fund to focus on assisting race-focused nonprofits in developing and maintaining healthy relationships with funding organizations; increasing funders’ understanding of antiracist work and assisting them in assessing their institutional needs around race and diversity as it relates to grantmaking practices; and helping community leaders and local funders design and implement effective programs to document and advance the skills of both grantseekers and grantmakers.Since its inception in 2003, the project has directly engaged more than 250 representatives of foundations in discussions related to racial equity and maintained contacts with philanthropic organizations, community-based practitioners, researchers and advocates through a dedicated Web site and publications.
