Informing State Legislatures: Statewide Afterschool Policy

About this grant

This grant will continue to support the National Conference of State Legislatures in its work to educate state legislators about the value of afterschool and to build state capacity to implement high quality afterschool and expanded learning opportunities. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) produce and disseminate briefs for legislators on the connections between afterschool research, policy, and practice; 2) expand communication efforts with legislators, legislative staff, and the statewide afterschool networks through written, electronic, and video mediums; 3) continue to support the networks as part of the Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative with an increased focus on effective data-sharing practices; and 4) support states to host convenings on afterschool issues.
