Informing State Legislatures: Statewide Afterschool Policy

About this grant

This grant will continue to support the National Conference of State Legislatures in its work to educate state legislators about the positive impact of afterschool and to build state capacity to implement high-quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) develop resources on the role afterschool and summer learning can play in state education, including to advance social and emotional learning and workforce development; 2) engage legislators on the topic of afterschool and summer learning; 3) implement the Supporting Student Success project to raise visibility of afterschool and summer learning on pressing education issues; and 4) continue to support the statewide afterschool networks as part of the Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative, with an increased focus on effective data sharing practices.
