About this grant
Ikhala Trust is a grantmaker that supports community-based organizations in poor communities across the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa. It makes small grants and provides training on various topics related to community development. Over the past two years, the grantee supported the growth of the asset-based community development approach in the province and nationally. This approach encourages the use of local assets as a basis for community development. It also continued to make small grants to support community-based organizations that respond to various challenges in their communities. Over the next two years, the grantee will finalize a practical toolkit on how to implement the asset-based community development approach, continue to make small grants, and provide training on the asset-based community development approach and other organizational development techniques to community-based organizations.
