About this grant
The Ikhala Trust is a community grantmaker that makes small grants to community-based organizations in the Eastern Cape province in South Africa. It also provides training to organizations working in poor communities to encourage an asset-based approach to community development. In addition, the grantee also piloted a monitoring and evaluation process with its grantees to collate more accurate qualitative and quantitative data on the impact of their support. This grant will enable the grantee to continue its work with community-based organizations, provide training to organizations to improve their skills, and introduce the asset-based community development approach to new grantees. Additionally, the grantee will consolidate the monitoring and evaluation process and introduce it to all its grantees.
