About this grant
Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa works to increase the amount and impact of investment in the nonprofit sector by promoting corporate and individual giving and volunteering in South Africa. In 2013-2014, the grantee mobilized over 700 volunteers to work on various projects benefitting over 3,500 people; raised over R4.6 million through ten employee-giving programs that benefitted 284 nonprofits; unlocked R1.9 million for three nonprofits from corporates and individuals; and conducted research on individual giving in the Gauteng province, South Africa. Over the next two years, the grantee will continue to unlock resources for nonprofits from the corporate sector, grow its corporate client base, and provide strategic advice to corporations on appropriate policies and strategies for volunteering, payroll giving, and grantmaking. They will also provide training and related support to nonprofits and campaign for increased giving by individuals.
