About this grant
Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa works to promote corporate and individual giving and volunteering in South Africa in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the nonprofit sector. It supports companies to develop strategies that respond appropriately to community needs, allows employees to be actively involved in community development initiatives, and strengthens the nonprofit sector to work more effectively. Past support enabled the grantee to mobilize volunteers in support of civil society initiatives, disburse funds to worthy causes, link businesses to vetted nonprofit organizations, and provide strategic guidance to companies setting up corporate social investment initiatives. Over the next two years, the grantee will continue to manage employee involvement programs for companies, unlock resources from the corporate sector in support of nonprofits, provide advice to corporates on their strategies and policies, advance thought leadership on topics related to civil society, and provide related support to nonprofits.
