About this grant

The Michigan Suburbs Alliance is dedicated to advancing redevelopment, regional cooperation, and public policy reform throughout southeast Michigan. Formed by representatives from 14 metro Detroit suburbs in 2002, the alliance harnesses the power of southeast Michigan’s 1.9 million inhabitants to address disinvestment in older cities. The alliance has grown to include the mayors and city managers of 31 mature, inner-ring suburbs, representing more than 1 million residents. This grant increase and grant period extension will provide general purpose support to the alliance, which will allow it to continue its support of these communities, including helping them understand and access appropriate opportunities that arise from the federal stimulus package.
