About this grant
This grant increase will enable the Flint Board of Education to complete the third and final phase of a strategic plan to improve educational outcomes for Flint students. In 2002, the board began the process of setting direction and developing strategies to deal with the issues facing the Flint Community Schools in the next decade, with the ultimate goal of creating a targeted action plan that would serve as a blueprint to address major issues and solve major organizational problems and lead to improved educational opportunities for Flint children and youth. Due to changes in facilitation and the decision to utilize the public more intensively in the process, the planning has taken longer than anticipated.
