About this grant
Through its Northern Great Lakes Forest Project, the Nature Conservancy, an international conservation organization, will protect more than 270,000 acres of forested land in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. To date, about 23,000 acres have been protected through fee acquisition, and 150,000 acres have been protected through a working forest conservation easement. This grant increase will be used for additional acquisition and stewardship costs.
