Rhode Island Statewide Afterschool Network

About this grant

This grant will support the United Way of Rhode Island which coordinates the Rhode Island Statewide Afterschool Network to continue development of policy, partnerships, and funding to benefit youth in afterschool programs. The network’s specific initiatives will include: 1) increasing communications activities to build public awareness about the importance of out-of-school time; 2) working with the Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island to increase partnerships with local funders in support of out-of-school time; and 3) providing professional development for out-of-school time practitioners focused on increasing literacy skills for young people in Rhode Island.
