About this grant
For the past two years, the Advancement Project has worked to develop and implement policy changes in three local sites — Chicago, Denver, and Palm Beach County, Florida — to end the misuse of zero tolerance policies. As one of the leading organizations working on zero tolerance, the project has helped to modify the use of zero tolerance policies that exclude youth from educational opportunities. This grant increase will enable the project to deepen organizing and public education efforts at all sites into 2005. Funding will also support the convening of a national meeting to highlight practices and experiences and broaden the understanding of zero tolerance and its impact.
