About this grant
This grant will continue to support the Collaborative Communications Group in its efforts to develop and grow the National Network of Statewide Afterschool Networks. Currently, the Foundation is providing partial support to 32 statewide networks, with an additional eight expected to join in the future. This project will foster cooperation and collaboration in states across the country and create opportunities for sharing strategies and challenges for furthering statewide policies that support the quality and sustainability of afterschool programs. Specifically, this grant will convene meetings and audio-conference calls, maintain a Web site and listserv, develop resources and tools, and document learnings. The Collaborative Communications Group will also assist the Mott-funded Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative in its efforts to provide technical assistance to the statewide afterschool networks. Additionally, in an effort to address the professional development needs of these networks, a leadership institute will be developed for individuals managing their statewide efforts.
