About this grant
The program goal is to promote regional cooperation, international integration, and peace and security in Central Eurasia. To this end, the Global Network Foundation organizes the Central Eurasia Leadership Academy, an innovative, transformational leadership program targeting two former Soviet regions — Central Asia and the Caucasus — in need of international attention and assistance. Since its establishment, the academy has included 289 young leaders from this region, and through a series of annual alumni events and activities in the region, these participants have formed an active network. In 2009, the foundation will concentrate on deepening the network primarily by organizing a grand reunion of all previous participants in Istanbul. Particular emphasis will be given to completing the process of transferring ownership from the foundation to network members. The Global Network Foundation was established in 2002 by the Society of International Business Fellows and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
