About this grant

The mission of the Flint-Genesee Economic Growth Alliance is to ensure that Genesee County maintains a viable business environment. To that end, the alliance collaborates with public and private sector leaders, coordinates regional economic development organizations and provides targeted programs and services.Funding will enable the alliance to pursue objectives such as creating new capital investment; retaining and expanding existing jobs; and enhancing the community’s employment base and financial stability. Activities will include conducting more than 100 visits to local manufacturing companies to identify opportunities; continuing partnerships with various organizations to provide industry support services; and promoting Flint and Genesee County for new business investment.Since 1998, the alliance has recruited 16 new companies to Flint and Genesee County, contributed to the expansion of 27 local companies and assisted in the creation of almost 2,000 new local jobs.
