About this grant
The Southern Environmental Law Center, a regional public-interest law group, uses a blend of legal and policy strategies to address water management challenges facing five southeastern states of interest to Mott: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. The grantee will continue its regionwide efforts to promote comprehensive, science-based water planning; make water conservation and efficiency the cornerstone of state and local water policies; recover and maintain healthy flows in the Southeast’s waterways; and ensure that new water infrastructure proposals are necessary and cost-effective.
