About this grant
The goal of the Community Foundation Performance Research project, developed by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, is to help community foundations define, assess and improve their overall effectiveness. Multiyear funding will enable the center to add additional grantee perceptions of community foundations to its database and publish a report on key findings; examine differences in practices among private and community foundation boards; and analyze and disseminate how one community foundation used the Grantee Perception Report to assess and improve its performance. Funding includes a grant increase to enable the center to examine similarities and differences between private foundation boards and those of community foundations, and to publish a report of findings. Findings on community foundation boards will be included in a larger study on foundation governance to be released by the center in 2005.During the past year, eight community foundations commissioned a Grantee Perception Report and made changes based on recommendations.
