About this grant
The Center for Regionalism works with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), political and civic leaders, and government officials to develop and implement initiatives addressing specific cross-border issues and to encourage dialogue among ethnic, religious and national groups in the Western Balkans. Multiyear funding will enable the center to foster dialogue and cooperation among NGOs from Serbia and Montenegro and Kosovo through the Civil Dialogue project; promote cross-border cooperation and better relations between and among Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia and Montenegro; and initiate and participate in activities to help people in Serbia and Montenegro face issues of responsibility, truth, justice and accountability related to the violent conflicts in the region during the 1990s.During the past two years, the center launched the Civic Dialogue project; established an association of multiethnic cities of Southeast Europe; and organized two regional meetings of the Igman Initiative, a regional effort to encourage cooperation by addressing practical issues at the local and national levels.
