About this grant
The Project for Conflict Resolution and Development works primarily in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa to conduct research, as well as design and facilitate processes that enable disadvantaged and/or at-risk communities and organizations to deal with conflict and transformation. Previous Mott support enabled the organization to provide training and support to ward committees, the formal structures through which communities participate in local government, in the Cacadu district municipality in the Eastern Cape province. This also involved conducting good governance surveys of the local municipalities within the district and training and mentoring mediators on conflict resolution. This grant will support the grantee to train ward committees and community development workers in the Eastern Cape province and to provide training and support for the successful resolution of conflicts in the implementation of development projects.
