About this grant
Nova Skola was established in 1996 to advocate for reforms in the Czech educational system that address the needs of marginalized children and communities. This grant will enable Nova Skola to provide technical assistance to existing community schools; introduce the community education concept in at least 40 new schools and community centers; exchange experience and best practice with community education movements in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union; and strengthen its own organizational capacity.Since 2000, Nova Skola has promoted the community education concept as an effective approach to improving the quality of education provided in poor neighborhoods, especially in areas with a significant Roma population.
