About this grant
Since 1989, the nonprofit sector has developed very dynamically in Poland. In 2002, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) enabled more than three million people to engage in regular voluntary activities in various fields. At the same time, NGOs need to strengthen their position as advocates for citizen engagement in support of socially beneficial reforms. Polish intermediary support organizations can assist in this process.Multiyear funding will support activities that include preparing Polish NGOs to function effectively after Poland’s accession into the European Union; strengthening the role of Polish NGOs in local development; improving services provided to NGOs; and increasing the financial stability of network members.SPLOT Non-Governmental Organization Support Network works to strengthen civil society by supporting the development of NGOs and informal citizen groups, especially those working with and/or representing socially, economically and culturally marginalized people.
