About this grant
Since 1993, Michigan Community Foundations’ Ventures (MCFV) has been involved in promoting the development of community foundations statewide by developing products and tools to assist with asset growth and capacity building. Recent efforts, focused on developing community foundation branding and marketing materials for Michigan, have been tested in California and deemed successful. This has resulted in community foundations in other states inquiring about adopting these effective regional marketing techniques.Multiyear funding will enable MCFV to make challenge grants to support new marketing efforts in Iowa, Maryland and South Carolina; provide technical assistance to the three statewide efforts and link them with regional marketing efforts in Michigan and California; and share best practices/lessons learned from the five regional marketing efforts with the broader community foundation field at the October 2003 community foundation conference.MCFV is a supporting organization of the Council of Michigan Foundations that serves as its community foundation research and development incubator.
