About this grant
The National Center for Community Education (NCCE) offers training and technical assistance to community education practitioners and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grantees throughout the United States. Since 1998, the 21st CCLC program has been providing funding to rural and inner-city public schools for projects that benefit the educational, health, social services, cultural and recreational needs of the community.Funding will enable NCCE to refine and revise its training curriculum to meet the changing needs of participants and refocus training efforts on the revitalization of community education and community schools. NCCE will continue to focus on training programs that provide participants with greater knowledge and understanding of community education, hands-on and visual experiences, and the skills to develop and implement plans in their home community. Accomplishments during the past year included training more than 3,000 participants through workshops and 21st CCLC training programs; initiating a strategic development planning process; and commissioning a marketing plan and organizational development study.
