About this grant

In the 2003-2004 academic year, approximately 36 percent of the students who enrolled in the Flint Community Schools in the previous four years graduated from high school. More than half of the students that drop out do so in the ninth grade. The GAPS: Success Connections program is a “transition intervention” strategy developed by Mott Middle College High School faculty to help prevent school dropout by focusing on the transition from middle school to high school. This renewal grant to Mott Community College will provide three additional years of support for this program.
