About this grant

In order to broaden the independent funding options for nonprofit organizations in Ireland, there is a critical need to increase the number of trust funds and charitable foundations. Fortunately, the changing economic environment in Ireland during the past decade has introduced new opportunities for enhanced private charitable giving.Multiyear funding will enable the Irish Funders Forum to encourage philanthropy and promote the development of new trust funds and charitable foundations by developing an information and awareness program; improving grantmaking practices of affiliated funds and foundations; providing a vehicle for sharing information and experiences among forum members; and promoting public awareness and understanding of trust funds and charitable foundations. The Irish Funders Forum is a collaborative of 22 private foundations that make grants in Ireland. Its membership is drawn from Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
