About this grant
The Brazilian Network on Multilateral Financial Institutions, a project of the Institute for Socioeconomic Studies (INESC), is made up of 64 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are working to increase citizen participation in decisionmaking on economic policy and projects financed by international financial institutions in Brazil. The network focuses on the decisions and policymaking processes of the international financial institutions and the Brazilian government.Funding will enable the network to pursue objectives that include providing an organizational and communications framework to facilitate information sharing among NGOs, grassroots organizations and members of parliament; promoting the development of collaborative efforts and strategies to influence Brazilian and international financial institution policymakers; and improving policymaking processes in Brazil concerning projects and economic policies financed by the international financial institutions.INESC, established in 1979, works to promote and strengthen representative, participative democracy through social, political, economic and cultural inclusion.
