About this grant
The "State of the Nation" is a publication produced by the Human Sciences Research Council, which annually reviews the political, social and economic situation in South Africa, particularly from the civil society point of view. The publication looks specifically at government policies over the preceding year and analyzes the impact that these policies have had on the different sectors of society. There is always a special feature article on the annual State of the Nation address that the president delivers to parliament and the implications this could have for the country in the year ahead. Mott has supported the first three publications of the "State of the Nation". This grant will support the annual production of the "State of the Nation" for the next two years.
