About this grant
The Resource Center was created in 1997 when three nonprofit organizations joined forces to provide services to local nonprofit organizations. The center’s core services include volunteerism, consulting, training and information. Along with 14 other local agencies, the center recently participated in an assessment process to analyze its strengths and challenges. In response to the assessment, funding will enable the center to develop a strategic plan to determine its market niche; design a cost-benefit analysis of existing programs and services; create a fund-development plan; determine outcome indicators for all programs; and increase its capacity as a management support organization serving other nonprofits. The Resource Center — formed by a merger of Leadership Flint, the Flint Executive Service Corps and the United Way’s Voluntary Action Center — is dedicated to promoting nonprofit effectiveness and volunteerism in the greater Flint area.
