About this grant
The University of Massachusetts-Boston is conducting evaluation research measuring the impacts of a series of Mott grants to nonprofit workforce development agencies providing alternative staffing services. These organizations provide services that create transitional employment opportunities for job seekers who face multiple barriers to employment. This grant increase will enable the university to explore the provision of employment supports to workers and the interactions of alternative staffing organizations with the infrastructure of services funded through the Workforce Investment Act. Additional funding will also support visits to the implementation sites. The additional areas of inquiry will deepen the assessment of the impact of enhanced marketing and sales capacity on alternative staffing services and their clients.
