About this grant
Recently, there has been an increased interest in afterschool programs across the country and the resulting growth of programs has greatly expanded opportunities for children and youth. Despite differences regarding local needs and interests, the programs share common goals, but depend on the availability of an infrastructure that provides access to high-quality training, technical assistance and mentorship, and links organizations together. Multiyear funding will support the Connecticut Statewide Afterschool Network. Network goals include fostering statewide, regional and local partnerships; securing resources necessary to sustain new and existing afterschool programs; and ensuring that afterschool programs are of high quality.The Connecticut State Department of Education serves as the administrative arm of the State Board of Education.This is one of 18 current grants supporting statewide afterschool networks.
