About this grant
This grant will enable the After-School Corporation to continue the New York Statewide Afterschool Network, a statewide afterschool network composed of state agencies, state and local policymakers, community-based organizations, and other key decisionmakers. This innovation grant will continue to provide core support to the network, while also encouraging new ideas designed to build or enhance positive systemic changes that further policies and practices for school-based/school-linked afterschool programs. In addition to continuing its work in building the field of afterschool in New York, the network will: develop a user guide to its program quality tool that will allow program staff and site directors to access information easily; and create a professional development institute for afterschool program managers. Each network receiving an innovation grant is expected to share lessons learned and products with the national network of statewide afterschool networks. This grantee is part of the second cohort of Mott-funded statewide afterschool networks.
