About this grant
This grant to AfterSchool Works! New York will support the development of the New York Statewide Afterschool Network to continue to build an afterschool and summer learning system that improves outcomes for children and youth through school-based or school-linked afterschool programs. Over the next three years, the network will support the development of policy, partnerships, and funding to benefit youth in afterschool programs. The network’s specific initiatives will include: 1) developing regional afterschool science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) networks; 2) increasing high quality, fee-for-service professional development activities that strengthen the field; and 3) assessing the current professional development landscape and developing a plan to address educators’ needs.
