About this grant
Recently, there has been an increased interest in afterschool programs across the country and the resulting growth of programs has greatly expanded opportunities for children and youth. Despite differences regarding local needs and interests, the programs share common goals, but depend on the availability of an infrastructure that provides access to high-quality training, technical assistance and mentorship, and links organizations together. Multiyear funding will support the expansion of the Nebraska Community Learning Center Network, allowing it to focus on creating statewide afterschool funding and building sustainability for local programs. The overarching goal of the network is to provide leadership and influence that mobilizes sustainable resources and builds capacity to better support student learning and development, and build healthy families and communities. The Nebraska Children and Families Foundation works to improve the health and well-being of children and families through its programs. This is one of 18 current grants supporting statewide afterschool networks.
