About this grant

The Flint Institute of Arts (FIA), founded in 1928, provides art programs and services to an estimated 85,000 Flint area residents. Its annual programs and services include a museum art school with studio classes in all media, educational outreach programs, traveling exhibitions, chamber music concerts, family-oriented events and docent-led tours. During 2004, FIA launched a two-phase building renovation/expansion plan to provide a broader range of resources to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse community. Funding will provide operating support to supplement revenues lost during construction as well as increased operating costs associated with the expanded space.
