About this grant

As part of the agreement with the Flint Board of Education to assume ownership of cultural center land and buildings, the Flint Cultural Center Corporation agreed to pay costs related to utility tie-off and installation of new electrical lines and meters for the Flint Institute of Music, Sloan Museum, Whiting Auditorium, Longway Planetarium, Flint Youth Theatre/Bower Theatre and the Flint Institute of Arts. This grant increase will support the installation of separate electrical service for facilities owned by the Flint Cultural Center Corporation from that serving the Flint Board of Education buildings. Electrical lines will be buried wherever possible to eliminate overhead wires and utility poles, which will enhance the overall attractiveness of the campus.
