About this grant

The purpose of this renewal grant to Jobs for the Future is to support the final year of "Breaking Through", an initiative aimed at expanding the capacity of community colleges to help adults with low literacy and mathematic skills advance into and succeed in college-level professional and technical programs that prepare them for family-supporting jobs. Funds will support continued testing and evaluation of program strategies being implemented in 26 community colleges across the United States. Key activities include focused grant management of funded colleges to ensure delivery of promised outcomes, technical assistance, peer learning, leadership development among community college presidents, tool development, publications, and completion of a third-party evaluation.
