About this grant
The Flint Area Science Fair provides a forum for K-12 students in a four-county area to develop their scientific and engineering talents. Formerly supported through the Mott-funded community education program of the Flint Community Schools, sponsorships and donations from local philanthropies, businesses, and individuals have kept the fair operating and covered the costs of student prizes over the past several years. Unfortunately, many of the participating schools do not have available dollars in their budgets to support the fair. This grant will provide three years of partial support as organizers work to find ways to sustain and institutionalize the fair.
