About this grant
Regional development agencies (RDAs) began to emerge in Ukraine in the mid-1990s. The National Association of Regional Development Agencies (NARDA) was created in 2001 to promote modern, sustainable local and regional development policies. To accomplish this, NARDA builds the capacity of its member organizations, strengthens the network of RDAs, and advocates for policy improvements at the national, regional and local levels. Multiyear funding will enable NARDA to develop an Internet portal; conduct three study tours for selected RDA members to successful RDAs in Ukraine and Poland; organize bimonthly policy feedback meetings between NARDA, RDAs and government policymakers; publish three comprehensive analytical research papers on pressing regional and local development issues in Ukraine; launch a community philanthropy learning network; and conduct 10 training workshops as part of a joint Belarusian-Ukrainian community development project.
