About this grant

This grant will enable Seedco to begin implementing its EarnBenefits Initiative, a three-level service delivery model designed to connect low-wage workers to important benefits that can help build their income and assets. Without critical work supports and employment benefits, many low-wage workers are unable to make ends meet. Earned income along often does not lift disadvantaged workers out of poverty. Multiyear funding will enable Seedco to increase awareness of benefits and work support programs among low-wage workers and small businesses in the Lower Manhattan area; make it easier for low-wage workers to access benefits through their small business employers; educate policymakers on the importance of benefits in helping workers achieve long-term self-sufficiency; and improve the application process for government benefit programs.Seedco, established in 1986, is a national nonprofit intermediary that creates economic opportunities for low-wage workers and their families. This is one of three Mott grants to explore employer-based benefits access models.
